City Loungin: Summer BBQ at the Park

Fire up the grill at a Hercules park this Memorial Day Weekend…

Monday is Memorial Day, which means this weekend is the unofficial start of the summer.  Sunbathing, swimming, vacations, warm weather are all words or phrases synonymous with the season.  No matter what you associate with summer, I’m sure “BBQ” can be found somewhere on that list.

Barbequing is an interest of mine that makes summer time all the more exciting for me.  Whether it’s in my backyard, at the park, while camping or tailgating at a baseball game, you can usually find me with a pair of tongs, in front of a grill.

With the Memorial Day holiday weekend upon us, I’ve put together a list of some good parks in Hercules that would make great locations for a neighborhood BBQ.  If you’re considering using one of these parks to BBQ this weekend, I must remind you that space is limited and is reserved at a first come, first served basis.

Woodfield Park & Tennis Courts (1991 Lupine Road)

The parks listed above are not all of the parks in Hercules, but, rather, those parks in our city that have BBQ pits and/or picnic tables.  Before planning your BBQ party, I would suggest calling the Department of Parks & Recreation for updates and availability.
