Why Go: The library is hosts this book reading by a Berkeley author as a celebration of Philippine Independence Day.

• Why Go: East Bay Improv actors perform spontaneous, impulsive and hilarious comedy on the first Saturday of every month. Unleash your imagination, spontaneity, confidence. Discover how to create characters, stories and scenes on the fly. Laugh-out-loud fun!

• Where/When: Sardine Can, Vallejo; Sunday, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
• Why Go: The party lasts all summer! Sundays are jazz nights at Vallejo’s Sardine Can. Come for a seafood dinner and enjoy the music: this Sunday features Michelle Michaels.
