Two festivals, an art sale, and story time are among this weekend's recommendations for families.

1. 

Where/When: 10979 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate baseball this weekend and get $3 off admission for kids and adults if you wear your baseball uniform. It doesn't matter if you are a Little Leaguer of 5 or 65.

2. 

Where/When: 1550 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go: Come for the chalk art competition and stay for the chocolates. The family-friendly festival is in Berkeley’s "gourmet ghetto."

3. 

Where/When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Why Go: The  Art & Wine Festival has an expanded children’s area this year, with inflatable jump houses, a 25-foot climbing wall, Zumba for kids, horse and carriage rides, and much more.

Pricing: Free admission; wine/beer tasting extra (adults only for the tastings!)

4. 

Where/When: Barnes & Noble, weekly on Fridays, 10 a.m-11 a.m.

Why Go: Story time, stickers and fun are always on the schedule Friday mornings inside the Barnes & Noble bookstore.

5. 

Where/When: 2856 Goularte Dr., Pinole; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: Pinole Artisans present a sale of acrylic paints, printed and handmade papers, card-making supplies, rubber stamps, inks, stencils and stencil paints, papier maché and wood blanks, canvas, books and much more.
