- Why Go: Praise the pachyderms! The Oakland Zoo presents a day dedicated to these lovable creatures, with tours of their habitats and special events celebrating elephants.
- Pricing: Free with zoo admission; about $8-$12, ages 2 and younger free

- Where/When: Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Ln., Pleasant Hill; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Why Go: Come out and walk to support the Humane Society. Enjoy a leisurely half-mile loop around the park, or have your friends and family sponsor you to walk a certain number of loops. A prize will be awarded to the person who walks the farthest distance.
