Great Escape: Get Growing

Reconnect with the Earth by jump-starting your spring garden.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Yourtweens take tap on Wednesday evening.  It’s your time. Take it. 

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier. 

For many, gardening is more than just a hobby. It is a way to relax, a way to connect to nature, and to feel a sense of accomplishment. With Spring right around the corner (although you can’t tell by looking outside), this weekend, get a jump start on a garden by attending .

The workshop will cover how to grow healthy veggies for you and your family and conserve water and energy at the same time. The leaders will discuss seasonal vegetables, soil preparation, natural pest control, and more.

You can bring a sample of your soil to test if you wish. Everyone is  welcome.

 So get those petunias planted and map out where to grow the zucchini flowers this year. The varieties of plants that can grow in our mild Bay Area climate is limited only to your imagination.
