Man Killed In I-80 Crash In San Pablo
The car was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram. This makes 3 traffic fatalities on Contra Costa County roads in 24 hours.

SAN PABLO, CA - It's been a deadly 24 hours on Contra Costa County roadways with 3 drivers killed in separate accidents.
A man died in San Pablo early this morning when his Kia Optima slowed or stopped on westbound Interstate Highway 80 and was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The crash happened around 3:50 a.m. and shut down the westbound highway near San Pablo Dam Road until around 6:30 a.m., according to CHP spokesman Officer Sean Wilkenfeld.

The driver of the Kia was unresponsive when CHP officers arrived, Wilkenfeld said.
"We don't know why (the Kia) slowed or stopped," the spokesman said.

The car slowed in the lane next to the passing lane, he said.The driver of the Dodge Ram is cooperating with the investigation and the CHP has determined that the driver wasn't under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Wilkenfeld said. The Ram driver wasn't injured, he said.

This was the latest of three deadly crashes. A pregnant woman was killed in a crash on Highway 4.
And a driver was killed in a rollover crash in Walnut Creek.
