• Air District Awards $65 Million in Penalty Funds to City of Richmond, Contra Costa County, City of Benicia and Beyond (contracosta.news) — Pinole is among several West Contra Costa communities set to benefit from a $65 million Bay Area Air District grant program aimed at cutting pollution and improving public health. While the largest awards go to Richmond and Contra Costa County, the broader funding will support cleaner air, home electrification, urban greening, and resilience projects in nearby frontline neighborhoods that include Pinole residents.
