4 Arrested Following Pinole Armed Robbery

Police also seized a loaded semi-automatic handgun and a BB gun.

PINOLE, CA —Four teens were arrested on suspicion of robbing someone at gunpoint in Pinole on Wednesday afternoon, according to police. The robbery was reported around 4:25 p.m. in the 600 block of Pinon Avenue.

The victim was walking on the street near San Pablo Avenue and was approached by a boy and girl. The girl pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim while the boy grabbed the victim's shopping bags and other property, police said.

Both suspects then got into the backseat of a vehicle with two other people in the front seats and the car fled south on Appian Way toward Interstate Highway 80, according to police.

After the victim reported the robbery, officers on an unrelated traffic stop in the Appian 80 Shopping Center realized they saw the suspect vehicle pass them. They located it and the four suspects, including two who
were inside a Safeway grocery store, police said.

The female suspect had changed her clothes while inside the store to try to disguise her appearance but was detained as she exited the store and officers found a loaded firearm in her possession, police said. A BB gun
was also found discarded inside the store.

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Richmond resident Sean Simon and three 17-year-olds, two from Richmond and one from El Sobrante.

Simon was booked into county jail in Martinez for robbery, conspiracy and violation of probation, while the underage suspects were booked into juvenile hall, police said.
