Announcement, photos submitted by Pinole Valley High:
This weekend is a prestigious one for the Pinole Valley High School jazz band. Selected to take part in the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, band director, Erik Radkiewicz and the two dozen members of the school’s skillful musicians will be playing three of their own pieces and then will be challenged to play a piece handed to them to learn and play extemporaneously on the fly!
The festival is world famous and will feature musicians from around the world. The Spartan band has brought pleasure and delight to our community, and this weekend has an opportunity to show others what we have been singing about.

The students have been working hard for this moment and if they don’t bring back a trophy, will certainly be returning home with some great memories.
