Police Officer to Address Pinole's Law Enforcement History

Pinole Historical Society presentation on Thursday is open to the public.

Curious about old timey justice? Wonder when Pinole first organized a city police force? What happened in Pinole during the Prohibition era?

Pinole Police Cmdr. Matt Messier will reach into the past Thursday night in a presentation of "The History of Law Enforcement in Pinole." A self-described history buff, Messier will address of the Pinole Historical Society at 6:30 p.m. at the Kaiser Medical Center, 1301 Pinole Valley Rd. The meeting is open to the public.

Also, author Donald Bastin will give a presentation about his book "Images of America: El Sobrante." Bastin also will hold a book signing.
