The Great Escape: Sit in the Dark and Get Served

The Cerrito serves food, wine and beer at your seat, for a dining and filmgoing experience together

Really, this is June? There are supposed to be lightning storms, wind and rain all weekend, so if you had beach plans or even going for a walk on your agenda, you are going to have to call it off. Why not take advantage of one, rain in June, and two, a lot of good new movie releases, and combine the two for a little mom-escape?

The Rialto Cinemas Cerrito shows first-run movies as well as a mix of independent, foreign and classic films, and presents the films while serving food, beer and wine, delivered to your seat! Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone serve you something for a change? And a glass of wine or a pint of Hefeweizen – even better.

Wednesdays at the Cerrito Theatre are “Slice Night,” with drink and pizza specials: house wine and pizza slice for $7, pint of beer and slice $6, or Bud Light and slice for only $5.

Right now the Cerrito is playing Kung Fu Panda and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. What mom would not enjoy a little midweek Johnny Depp?

General admission is $10, and there are $8 bargain matinees every day before 5 p.m.
