The Great Escape: Walk This Way
Head to the hills for some exercise, company and great views

After a few starts and stops, and some hailstorms to write home about, spring is finally here. So this week’s Great Escape looks at another way you can get out, break your routine and rejuvenate outdoors in this nice weather.
That’s just what the organizers of a new neighborhood walking group were thinking, too. Walk ‘N’ Talk Pinole formed in early 2011 as an informal way of getting a few people together to get out and get moving. Its first walk drew 23 people! The second walk had 27, and it has kept going since.
Members walk every other Saturday morning for a little over an hour. The group got so popular, it now meets every Wednesday night as well.

It meets at different spots on Saturdays but for simplicity's sake always meets at Pinole Valley High School parking lot for the Wednesday evening walks. There's no cost and it's a great way to meet new people, to find walking partners, to get some exercise and to discover new places in Pinole. Flyers are up around Pinole and everyone is welcome.
Upcoming Wednesday Walks are April 13, 20 and 27.

The next Saturday walk is at Fernandez Park on April 30, for the Flippers to Feet 5 K Walk/Run.
Its Facebook page is Walk N Talk Pinole.
