Circle The Date: New Day Planned For Giant Pleasant Hill Library Book Sale

PLEASANT HILL, CA – PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE for the Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library’s next Giant Parking Lot Used Book Sale will be on Saturday, Oct. 22. The date was changed due to weather.

Thousands of books will be on sale at unbeatable prices.

Prices are simplified: $1 for either a hardback or paperback and 50 cents for children’s books. Sale time is 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Clearance Sale hours: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with general books $3/filled bag; 50 percent off Better Books. New procedure of clearing out the sale area for 15 minutes before the Bag Sale at 1:30 p.m. Members’ early bird entry begins at 9:30 a.m.

Customers like the new location next door to the Contra Costa County Office of Education parking lot under the solar panels, at the corner of Oak Park Blvd and Monte Cresta Ave.

The sale will be visible from the street, with convenient on-site parking under the solar panels, on the street and at the library next door.

Friends’ partners with The Crayon Initiative. Bring all your unwanted crayons with you to the sale and place them in the collection bin. The Crayon Initiative will remanufacture them and provide new crayons to children in hospitals. The Crayon Initiative: Recycling unwanted crayons into unlimited possibilities.

Free Electronic Waste recycling by Rapid Recycle of Pacheco. Bring over your unwanted computer parts, televisions and any other home electronics for Rapidrecycle.net.

For the sale, books are grouped by category for easy browsing. Please help these formerly-loved books find a good home while supporting your local library. All proceeds go directly to the Pleasant Hill Library for programs and materials purchases.
