Giants' Trophy Tour Has Monday Stop In East Bay

All three San Francisco Giants World Series trophies will be on display from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Todos Santos Plaza, Concord.

The San Francisco Giants World Championship Trophy Tour presented by Bank of America will continue its public tour and visit Todos Santos Plaza park in Concord, on Monday, Jan 12., from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The 2010, 2012 and 2014 Major League Baseball’s Commissioner’s Trophies, crafted by Tiffany & Co., will be on display to help celebrate the World Series Champions with devoted Giants fans in Junior Giants communities throughout northern and central California, Oregon and Nevada, and help raise funds and awareness for the Junior Giants program.

This Concord event is officially hosted by the Concord Junior Giants (CJG).

The viewing of the trophies is free to the public but a voluntary contribution of $2 per person is suggested to support the local Junior Giants program. This will be the third public trophy tour held in the past five years.

ABOUT CONCORD JUNIOR GIANTS

Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive, co-ed baseball program for under-served youth, ages 8-14. Working together with local agencies, families and volunteers, Junior Giants reaches into communities and offers youth a chance to learn the basics of baseball during the summer while also discovering the importance of self-esteem and respect.

Entering the 21st season, Junior Giants annually serves over 20,000 participants in 90+ leagues and serves as a positive alternative to unhealthy activities for at-risk youth. Junior Giants is more than just baseball and offers several distinct programs to further enrich a player’s experience. Players learn the Junior Giants Four Bases of Character Development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork, as well as the importance of Education, Health and Violence Prevention.
