51,376 People Attend Alameda County Fair on Fourth of July

Just how many funnel cakes and corn dogs were consumed this fair season?

Pleasanton, CA — The Alameda County Fair wrapped its 2016 season with a surprise marriage proposal and an epic fireworks show. More than 50,000 people from all over Northern California turned out to the fair on its final day.

This year’s newest attractions included the Red, White & Brew Fest, which was held at the Budweiser Grandstand, and featured 30 craft breweries. Tomas Garcilazo, the top trick roper in the world, performed at the fair this season. The Chinese Acrobats of Hebei joined as part of the incredible fair attractions and the "Elvis Burger" was this year's must-try fair food item.

The Churro Gelato Sandwich won the third annual "SNACKDOWN" championship title. Motocross, monster trucks and demolition derby returned to tear it up in the newly expanded action sports arena.
