Attic Fire Damages Pleasanton Home, Displacing Residents
An attic fire damaged a Pleasanton home Saturday evening and displaced its residents, a fire official said.
PLEASANTON, CA — An attic fire possibly sparked in a chimney chase damaged a Pleasanton home Saturday evening, a Livermore-Pleasanton Fire official told Patch.
The fire broke out sometime between 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the single-family, two-story home on Dolores Drive, LPFD Battalion Chief Dan Moyles told Patch.
The residents, who were at home at the time, weren't notified of the fire by their smoke detectors, and only found out after neighbors spotted flames and alerted them to the fire, Moyles said.

Firefighters achieved knockdown within 20 minutes. Nobody was injured, but the home suffered structural damage.
The fire may have been sparked in the chimney chase, running from the fireplace to the attic, both of which were charred during the fire. The chimney may now be at risk of collapsing, Moyles said.
