Driver Accused Of Hitting Pleasanton Pedestrian Found

The driver has not been arrested. Police said the case will be sent to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office for review.

PLEASANTON, CA — A driver accused of striking a Pleasanton pedestrian and giving false contact information to the victim has been found, according to Pleasanton police. Police said the man stopped following the crash, but lied to the woman after hitting her as she was crossing in the crosswalk on Tom Burnett Lane near Johnson Drive.

Video of the Dec. 21 collision shows the driver of the dark-colored pickup failing to yield to the pedestrian who was in the middle of the marked crosswalk. The pickup knocked the woman to the ground.

The driver has not been arrested and his name will not be released now that he is cooperating with the investigation, police said. Police said the case will be sent to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for review.
