Grainbakers Baking School

Grainbakers offers one-of-a-kind whole-grain breadmaking classes and soft pretzel-making workshops. We are honored to be in a guest residency at Pans on Fire, the beloved Pleasanton cooking school. We are also well known for wholesome staff team builders hosted right at your office. Spent grain and brewer's barley are healthy whole grains recycled from the brewing process. Our 90-minute workshops are hosted at some of the country's best breweries, and they often sell out fast. Classes blend fun, relaxation, and the pride of saying "I made that." Whether you are brand new to breadmaking or a seasoned sourdough pro craving a fresh twist, you are welcome here. We especially love showing homebrewers how to transform that beautiful spent grain and brewer's barley into something extraordinary. Every workshop pairs you with friendly Teaching Assistants who guide you through mixing, shaping, and prepping your dough. You leave with oven-ready dough to bake fresh at home, plus recipes and tips to keep the magic going in your own kitchen. The aromas, the laughter, and the brewery atmosphere all add up to a night you will remember. This is a fun night out that is also an affordable night out. Most cooking classes are very expensive, and many paint-and-sip or craft classes burn through supplies, create a pile of trash, and still come with a hefty price tag. Grainbakers keeps it simple and satisfying. A warm setting, a hands-on experience, and something genuinely useful and delicious to take home. A fatal crash off eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton Tuesday night claimed two lives and started a small brush fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident was first reported around 11 p.m. near the San Ramon Road off ramp, CHP officials said. The driver of a speeding sedan clipped an SUV, lost control and flew off of the roadway, crashing into a tree as the car burst into flames. No lanes were closed and the small brush fire started by the flaming vehicle was quickly extinguished, according to the CHP. No other injuries were reported in the accident. By Bay City News

We wanted to share a simple (and fun!) way to support the dogs at Calpaws K9 Rescue.
On May 30th, we’re hosting a Texas Hold’em Poker Night in Livermore — a relaxed evening where you can enjoy good food, great company, and a little friendly competition, all while helping dogs in need.
