Fernando's Mexican Restaurant Shuttered

The fiesta is over but you can still post your happy memories about the popular Pleasanton eatery on their Facebook page.

PLEASANTON, CA: The furniture may not yet be gone but Fernando’s Mexican restaurant has officially closed its doors. The Pleasanton mainstay invited all of its customers and threw one last fiesta grande in March before the closure. A few days after the restaurant shuttered, a hopeful note was posted on the Fernando’s Facebook page.

“Hello everybody! We want to let you know that nothing is set in stone yet! Meaning we have a few more days until we permanently close! During this week we will get and train new help and reopen on Monday!”

However, the restaurant has yet to reopen. A few faithful customers have posted farewell wishes and comments on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Debbie Natsch said, “We are so sad, we went by for our ‘final’ meal with you just to find the restaurant already closed. We will miss our weekly visit...my poor kids are heartbroken! Thanks for being a part of lots of great memories!”

Deanne Rowlett VanKirk wrote, “We stopped by on St Patrick's day. And seen the closed sign. We absolutely love Fernando's. The best Mexican food anywhere. So delicious. We decided to go over to Alberto Cantina and it was horrible. Don't waste your money. Nothing comes close to Fernando’s!”

Fernando’s, which was located 348 St. Mary St., did not return requests for comment.
