'Suspicious' House Fire Under Investigation In Pleasanton: Police

Firefighters battled a fire before dawn Friday. At least four people were displaced.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Police Department said it is investigating a "suspicious" house fire that significantly damaged a home and two cars early Friday morning.

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded around 4:30 a.m. to a garage and attic fire in the 5500 block of Paseo Navarro near Hansen Park, fire officials say. Firefighters had put out the blaze a half hour later and protected three surrounding homes.

There were no injuries reported.

Four fire engines, one ladder truck and a battalion chief responded to the scene.

The four or five residents who lived there exited the home, but they will probably not be able to move back in until major construction is performed, officials say. The American Red Cross is working with the family.

No other information about the police investigation was given in a statement police released Friday.
