Firefighters Rescue Fawn From Tri-Valley Creek

The baby deer was eventually reunited with its mother.

PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters in Pleasanton rescued a fawn stuck in a creek near the fire station on Sunday, fire officials said. A citizen alerted the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department crew to the deer, which was struggling in the water. Firefighters were able to get the fawn to safety and dried it off with a department t-shirt before reuniting it with its mother.

Last week, another Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department crew worked to free a kitten, which was found trapped in the pipe about three feet underground at the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore. Although firefighters were not able to get the stubborn kitten out right away, the Feral Cat Foundation returned early the next morning and successfully rescued the cat, which is now safe and awaiting adoption.
