First 'Inclusive' Preschool Opens In Pleasanton
The "iPAL Preschool," previously Harvest Park Preschool Center, will serve 3- and 4-year-olds from special needs and general population.
PLEASANTON, CA – A ribbon-cutting of iPAL Preschool, Pleasanton’s first inclusive school for children ages 3 and 4, will be Wednesday, April 26 at 10 a.m., according to the Pleasanton Unified School District.
iPAL Preschool, previously called Harvest Park Preschool Center, has served special-needs students from across the district for 11 years and now will be open to all children.
As an inclusive preschool, iPAL provides preschool students with special needs an opportunity to learn, play and explore alongside typically developing students, the district said. General-education students have a chance to learn compassion, patience, empathy and how to assist their peers in a way that benefits both.

The school is at 4900 Valley Ave. in Pleasanton, located on the Harvest Park Middle School campus, behind the side parking lot off of Northway Road.
iPAL is open to 3-year-old students three days a week, on Monday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. iPAL Preschool serves 4-year old students Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

iPAL Preschool was approved on Jan. 17 to expand its services to the general public by the PUSD Board of Trustees.
