Garage Fire Damages House on Pimlico Drive

The fire, which was reported at around 6 p.m. on July 5, is still being investigated.

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to a garage fire that caused extensive damage to a two-story home at about 6 p.m. Monday.

Four people--including a couple and their two adult children--were inside the house at the time of the fire said Acting Deputy Chief Joe Rodondi.

One person initially heard a noise coming from  garage, he said.

"[She] opened the door to go into the garage, saw flame and smoke already filling up the garage and got everyone out," said Rodondi.

The residents were unhurt, but there were extensive damage from smoke throughout the house, Rodondi said.

Seven fire engines and two fire trucks arrived at the scene and were able to put out the fire in approximately 30 minutes.

The fire caused approximately $500,000 in damages.

Rodondi said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. On the morning of June 6, crews were unable to complete the investigation because the house was determined to be structurally unsound.

The family will be unable to return to the home, said Rodondi.
