Hazardous Materials Incident Under Investigation In Pleasanton
Fire officials said a liquid nitrogen tank fell off of a truck and two buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters in Pleasanton responded to a report of a hazardous materials incident in Pleasanton Friday afternoon. The incident was reported at 6055 Sunol Blvd. at 3:13 p.m. The building is home to Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.
Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department officials said a 700-pound liquid nitrogen tank fell off of a delivery truck on the campus and two buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Deputy Fire Chief Joe Testa said the initial concern was the potential for an explosion after the tank fell, however, the valve appeared to be functioning and venting properly.
The LPFD Hazardous Materials Team members monitored the tank to make sure it was safe. No one was injured during the incident.
