Join New Leaf Community Market in Supporting Food Bank in November
1 pound of nutritious poultry will be donated for each 10 pounds purchased at New Leaf
Throughout the month of November, for every 10 pounds of Smart Chicken® purchased at New Leaf Community Market located at 3550 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, one pound of the nutritious poultry will be donated by New Leaf and Smart Chicken’s producer to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Since 2014, with the support of customer purchases, New Leaf has donated over 2 tons of Smart Chicken to the food bank. Since 2006, New Leaf has donated over 25 tons of Smart Chicken to food banks in the communities it serves.
During the holidays, New Leaf will also be collecting cash donations at the cash register to support the food bank’s holiday food drive.
“Alameda County Community Food Bank provides healthy food to one in five Alameda County residents—which is only possible thanks to generous donations from our community partners. Food banks like ours are always in need of quality protein items like these, and especially during the holidays. On behalf of our neighbors, we are extremely grateful to New Leaf for their ongoing support,” said Michael Altfest, associate director, communications & marketing, Alameda County Community Food Bank.

Smart Chicken is made from 100% all-natural, free-roaming, grain-fed chickens that are raised without animal byproducts, antibiotics, or hormones. The poultry is processed using purified cold air instead of being chilled in non-potable communal water baths, which eliminates water absorption and cross contamination. The company maintains high standards for how the chickens are humanely raised, transported, and prepared for market.
