KRAFT RECALL ALERT: Metal Pieces Found in Mac & Cheese Prompts Massive Recall
Attention, parents: check any boxes of this Kraft macaroni and cheese you may have on the shelves.

Food industry giant Kraft Foods is recalling millions of boxes of one of its most popular family itemsâ macaroni and cheeseâ â... due to the possibility that some boxes may contain small pieces of metal.â
The company announced Tuesday that approximately 242,000 cases are affected by the voluntary recall. A spokesperson told NBC News that equates to approximately 6.5 million boxes of the product.

So far, they have received eight reports from consumers about the metalâ but no injuries have been reported, according to Kraft.
âWe deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed,â Kraft said in a news release.

Boxes were shipped nationwide, and in several other countries, according to the company. They were packaged individually, and in multi-packs.

According to Kraft, the recall affects the 7.25 oz size boxes of âoriginal flavorâ macaroni and cheese with a âbest byâ date between September 18, 2015 through October 11, 2015. More specifically, only products with a âC2â printed underneath the date are included in the recall. See the image above for an idea of where to look on any boxes you may have.
âConsumers who purchased this product should not eat it,â Kraft said. âThey should return it to the store where purchased for an exchange or full refund.â
