Masters Swim Meet Comes To Pleasanton

More than 800 swimmers expected at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center Friday through Sunday.

At least one pool in Pleasanton and the roads around it will be crowded today through Sunday.

The Pacific Masters Championship Swim Meet gets under way at 8:30 a.m. Friday. About 800 swimmers are expected at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center, 4455 Black Ave., near Santa Rita Road

Watch for increased traffic at 7 a.m., when they arrive, and 5 p.m., when competitions end. City officials said they are working to reduce the traffic impact on nearby neighborhoods.

Participants and spectators are being urged to use Gingerbread Preschool, Alisal Elementary School and Amador Valley High School for overflow parking. The schools are closed Friday for spring break.
