PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton city officials are reminding motorists that Old Stanley Boulevard, between First Street/Stanley Boulevard and Promenade Way, will be closed for a month beginning July 1. The closure is due to road construction and realignment associated with the Nevada Street extension for the housing development underway in the area, officials said. Message boards that alert motorists to the upcoming closure are in place.

During the closure, traffic will be rerouted via Valley Avenue or Ray Street to Santa Rita Road/Main Street, and local traffic will gain access via Main Street, according to the city.

"The closure is the most efficient approach, as it allows the work to be completed in four weeks, and while school is not in session, to minimize traffic impacts," according to the city's website. "The schedule has been carefully organized to get Old Stanley Boulevard open before school starts on August 12, so as not to overlap with the solar project PUSD has planned for the AVHS parking lot."
