PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton will host a No Kings protest Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Amador Valley Community Park, organizers announced. The rally is one of 3,000 across every state in the nation, including one at Livermore’s Portola Park earlier that morning, and several more in the East Bay.

The event will begin with a rally with speakers from The Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, and local clergy. There will also be live music, a gravity banner for all to sign, and sidewalk chalk to create art.

From 2:15 to 3:30 p.m., demonstrators holding signs will line Santa Rita Road.

Demonstrators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Tri-Valley Haven Food Bank.

“When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence,” organizers said.

National organizers said they expect turnout to surpass previous events, potentially making March 28 one of the largest one-day protests in U.S. history. Roughly 2,500 people showed up to an October demonstration at Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park.
