PG&E Power Outage, School Schedule For Tuesday: Pleasanton

Pleasanton residents and businesses are hoping for the best, but advised to plan for the worst.

PLEASANTON, CA — Power was restored to Pleasanton late Monday following a PG&E Public Safety Planned Shutdown that began over the weekend, and all Pleasanton schools will be open Tuesday.

But PG&E warned that approximately 605,000 ratepayers in Northern California will lose power Tuesday, including customers in the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Humboldt, Kern, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba.

The planned outage is expected to last through Wednesday.

"The specific areas of impact and times for this new PSPS event are still developing," the city of Pleasanton said in a released statement. "Pleasanton residents should be prepared to again be without power for 24-48 hours after the weather event is over as PG&E inspects and repairs transmission lines."

PG&E customers are urged to use the PG&E Address Lookup tool at https://psps.ss.pge.com to check a specific address for potential outage, and visit psps.cityofpleasantonca.gov for additional updates as they become available.

All East Bay regional parks and trails will be closed through Thursday at 9 a.m. due to ongoing weather and fire dangers, parks officials said.
