Pleasanton Comic Book Store Going Out Of Business
Everything in the Heroes and Villains Comics store is on sale.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton’s popular comic book store is going out of business next year. Heroes and Villains Comics will close in February of 2018, according to the owners. The comic book purveyor has been in business in Pleasanton for eight years. Co-owner Jim Cravens said the tough decision to close was made after his business partner Catherine de Dood became ill.
Cravens recently thanked longtime customers via Facebook.
It is with a great sadness and heavy heart that we must announce that we are closing Heroes and Villains Comics after 8 years of business. Due to Catherine’s long term illness diagnosis it’s important that Jim is available to help at High Tide. With Heroes and Villains being two hours away, Jim was not able to devote enough time to run the store. Even though we tried diligently to find a suitable replacement, we were unfortunately unable to find a buyer for the store.
Please make sure to stop by often as we are also going to liquidate our warehouse stock! There will be great deals on everything in the store and we will be bringing in exciting new items that have never been available in the store before. We will remain open until sometime in February in order to sell off all items in store including fixtures.
Thank you to each and every one of you that have supported us throughout the years. We are so proud to have created a tight-knit comic book community and brought the joy of reading comics to new generations of readers in Pleasanton. This has been an incredible experience and we have met thousands of wonderful people over the last eight years. We will especially miss our amazing work crew because without them Heroes and Villains would not have been such a special place. It will be difficult to leave all our friends and we will truly miss seeing everyone. If you are ever in Bodega Bay please drop by High Tide Books, Gifts, and Games and say hello.
Heroes and Villains is located at 264 Main Street. Cravens and Catherine de Dood also own High Tide Books, Gifts, and Games in Bodega Bay. There is still time to visit and everything in the store is on sale.
