DANVILLE, CA — A wine bar with a unique theme recently opened in Danville. The Auburn Lounge wine bar replaced the AuburnJames Winery Tasting Room on Hartz Avenue. The wine bar, which is under new ownership and management, was completely rebranded and recently debuted with a fun 1930s-themed speakeasy style.

The name Auburn remains to pay homage to the past owners of AuburnJames, who still own the rights to the original American car company "Auburn" most famously known for their 1936 Auburn Speedster.

The name was also the inspiration for the theme of the bar, according to owners Michelle and Marc Collopy.

“From the colors and antique chandeliers, to the tiniest details from our local antique store we have transformed the room into a setting you would find in the 30s,” Collopy told Patch. “The music is always fun and we play anything between Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, piano jazz, and even bring in the late night with more modern rhythms that will make you feel like you are in the trendiest lounge in Las Vegas! We appeal to the teenagers of the 30s, and the young people today looking for a sophisticated night out, and everyone in between.”

Collopy said they pride themselves and their staff on their superior customer service.
