Pleasanton Officials Trying To Mitigate Fly Problem: Report
Pleasanton officials say they are working with Alameda County to figure out why swarms of flies have invaded downtown.
PLEASANTON, CA â Pleasanton officials are responding to complaints that swarms of flies are proliferating around downtown.
Residents on Nextdoor have reported seeing unusually high numbers of flies, despite not leaving trash out, according to Pleasanton Weekly. City Manager Gary Beaudin told the Weekly that the city is working with Alameda County Vector Control Services to figure out why the number of flies is so high this year, and what to do about it.
Erika Castillo, regulatory and public affairs director at the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District, told the Weekly that the first step is finding out what type of flies these are, and then try to find and get rid of the breeding source.
