PLEASANTON, CA — Teens interested in law enforcement still have an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming Teen Academy hosted by the Pleasanton Police Department. An official with the department said Tuesday that a few slots still remain for the academy, which is offered at no charge to local high school students.

The Teen Academy runs July 16 through Aug. 1, and features hands-on activities and classroom lectures provided by police officers. Topics covered include patrol, dispatch, SWAT, investigations, traffic, K-9, evidence collection and animal services. The Teen Academy is a requirement of the Explorer Program.
