Pleasanton Police: Officer Placed On Leave, Investigation Opened
Pleasanton police have opened an investigation of an officer's social media activity following the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton police officer was placed on leave and the department has opened an investigation and a review of the officer's social media use, the Mercury News reported.
The officer was placed on administrative leave earlier this month and will be out until Pleasanton Police Department finishes its probe of the officer's social media, the newspaper reported.
The department is the second Bay Area law enforcement agency to delve into the social media accounts of officers following the Jan. 6 insurrection of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., the Mercury News reported.
