Pleasanton Preschool Teacher Arrested, Suspected of Sexually Battering Child
Alexander Kurtz, 22, of Castro Valley was arrested on May 28, according to police officials.

An employee at a Pleasanton preschool and child care center was charged today with lewd and lascivious acts with a teen girl, police said. Alexander Kurtz, 22, of Castro Valley was arrested at about 3 p.m. Thursday and charged by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office today, according to Pleasanton police.
According to police, Kurtz was employed as a teacher at the Building Kidz Preschool at the time of the incident. Police officials say the victim’s mother reported the sexual battery to police on May 26, 2015.
He was fired by his employer, Building Kidz Preschool at 4300 Mirador Drive, after police informed them of the allegations, police said. The alleged acts are believed to have happened in December of 2014, police said.

The 13-year-old victim was a former student at the school, called Busy Bees at the time, which also provides daycare and preschool services for school-age children. Kurtz is not suspected of having any inappropriate relations with any current students at the school, police said.
Police officials did not confirm the age of the victim.
