Pleasanton Rallies To Support Cancer-Stricken Police Officer
Friends and family are rallying to help Kyle Henricksen and his wife, who have taken care of others so many times.
PLEASANTON, CA — After more than a decade of protecting and serving residents in Pleasanton, police officer Kyle Henricksen is now facing the fight of his life. At the age of 35, Henricksen was diagnosed with stage IV Pancreatic cancer which has metastasized to his stomach lining.
It is extremely rare for someone so young to be diagnosed with this type of cancer. Most are diagnosed in their 70s, according to the GoFundMe page started to help the Henricksen family. In an effort to beat this aggressive cancer and save his own life, Henricksen made the decision to start a grueling treatment plan at Stanford, which will not be covered by their family's Kaiser Permanente insurance.
Henricksen and his wife, Jenn, have two young children and are raising their niece, whose father died several years ago due to a heart condition. The couple also raised Jenn’s younger sister when their mother died.
