Pleasanton well represented at Boston Marathon

On a day that Kenya's Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot set the Boston Marathon record with a time of two hours, five minutes, 10 Pleasanton residents also completed the famous race.

Jeffrey Banks, 29, covered the 26.2-mile course in an astounding 2:41:54 — a 6:11 pace for each mile. Daniel Swansey, 30, also finished with a sub-seven minute mile pace (6:33) and finished in 2:51:44.

Caroline Guebels, 27, was the top female from Pleasanton with an impressive 3:07:47 (a 7:10 mile pace).

Other Pleasanton residents that completed the race we William Thoma, Kelko Mitsunobu, Karen Richards, Pam Shinnick, Debra Updefraff, Lisa Vian and Roberta Gonzales.
