'Suspicious' Playground Fires Under Investigation In Pleasanton
Play equipment was set ablaze Friday and Nov. 8, police said.
PLEASANTON, CA — Suspicious fires were set at two Pleasanton play structures in the early morning hours of Friday and Nov. 8, police said.
Both fires are being investigated as arsons and police are reviewing surveillance camera footage in attempt to identify the person responsible, according to a statement from the Pleasanton Police Department.
The first fire was reported around 5:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at Creekside Park (5601 W. Las Positas Blvd.). Someone had set the swings ablaze overnight, police said.

Friday's fire was reported at 2:30 a.m. in Hansen Park (5697 Black Ave.), where the play structure was significantly damaged, to the tune of $75,000, police said. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
