PUSD Receives Bomb Threat Deemed Non-Credible: District

Pleasanton and several other county school districts received threatening emails, but police deemed them not credible.

The district consulted with the Pleasanton Police Department and determined that the threat was not credible because the email did not specify any school site, classroom, or group of people, PUSD said.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton Unified School District received a non-credible email threat that explosives were placed inside district schools, according to an email sent to families Tuesday. The threatening email was reportedly sent to several Alameda County school districts.

The district consulted with the Pleasanton Police Department and determined that the threat was not credible because the email did not specify any school site, classroom, or group of people, PUSD said.

“For these reasons, and in consultation with our law enforcement partners, it was determined that no immediate response to this threat was needed by PUSD,” the district’s email said. The district said it will continue to monitor the situation and remain in contact with the police department.
