Pleasanton PD Citizens' Police Academy Applications Open
The free program starts in January and will teach Pleasanton residents about all aspects of the department's work, over 15 weeks.
PLEASANTON, CA — Registration is open for the Pleasanton Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy, a free, 15-week program that teaches civilians about modern law enforcement.
Pleasanton residents 18 and older are invited to apply for the course, which will begin in January and will be held Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Pleasanton Police Department.

- Animal Services
- Crime Prevention
- Patrol Procedures
- Traffic Enforcement
- Crime Scene Investigation
- Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)
- K-9 Program
- Use of Force
- Radio Communications
- Narcotics Investigations
Applicants must either live or work in Pleasanton, have no felony convictions, no arrests within a year of applying, and successfully pass a background check.
