RECOGNIZE ABUSE: LEARN RESOURCES

Awareness plus action equals social change. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 15 learn signs of abuse and resources

Vicki Thompson, Director of Domestic Violence Services for Tri-Valley Haven, will speak on “Recognizing Signs of Abuse and Resources for Helping” at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at the Livermore Civic Center Library, 1188 South Livermore Avenue. This program co-sponsored by Tri-Valley Haven and the Livermore-Pleasanton-Dublin Branch American Association of University Women, is free and the public is invited to attend. Attendees will learn what signs of abuse to look for and learn about the helping resources available in the community. AAUW has long supported efforts that strengthen and improve victim support systems for survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

Tri-Valley Haven operates a safe, secure shelter in Livermore as well as counseling services, a rape crisis center and support groups for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence victims. For further information about the October 15 program, call (925) 443-7901 or go online to www.aauw-lpd.org.
