Relay for Life honors cancer survivors and victims

Relay for Life is this weekend (July 23, 2016) at Pleasanton Middle School

Survivors of Cancer are invited to walk the Opening Lap at this weekend's Relay for Life event, held at the Pleasanton Middle School (July 23, 2016). 

Opening Ceremonies are at 9am, with a welcome by Mayor Jerry Thorne, followed by the Survivor Lap and the Caregiver's lap.

Entertainment, booths, food and walking laps will continue through the day for 24 hours until Sunday morning.

Lighted luminaria bags in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of those who have fallen to cancer will surround the track with a luminaria ceremony at 9pm.

Anyone who would like to order a luminaria bag in honor of a family member or friend, can go to http://www.relayforlife.org/pleasantonca for a minimal donation of $10.  The bag will be decoratged and placed around the track.  Please come after dark to the PMS track to see the lighted luminaria.

This is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's fight to eliminate cancer.
