Squirrel Blamed For Massive Livermore Power Outage

Thousands in Livermore were without power Wednesday morning.

LIVERMORE, CA — The power has been restored to more than 2,000 customers in Livermore this afternoon. A PG&E spokesperson said a squirrel came into contact with electrical equipment, knocking the power out to 2,374 customers at about 10:14 a.m. Wednesday.

By 11 a.m., the power was restored to half of the customers and was fully restored before noon. The PG&E spokesperson said crews worked as quickly as possible to restore the electricity.
