Starbucks Opens In Former Arby’s Building

The coffee shop is open for business. Plus, find out more about a new sports bar and a new gourmet cupcake shop open in Tri-Valley.

PLEASANTON, CA — Less than a year after Arby’s in Pleasanton closed, a new Starbucks has opened on Owens Drive. Arby’s closed in July of 2017 and building has since been remodeled. The coffee shop is open and features a drive-thru and outdoor patio seating. Starbucks is located at 5900 Owens Drive in Pleasanton.

A new Vietnamese cuisine-inspired restaurant will soon open in the City Center Bishop Ranch development in San Ramon. The eatery is owned by award-winning Chef Charles Phan, who also owns The Slanted Door in San Francisco and a second restaurant in Berkeley.

After a decade in Danville, Chow closed. The popular eatery, which was located on Railroad Avenue in the Iron Horse Plaza, served American comfort food. Its locations in Lafayette, Oakland and San Francisco will remain open and the Oakland location is hiring, according to the website.

Smallcakes: Cupcakery & Creamery celebrated their soft opening this month and will host a grand opening event in June. The bakery specializes in not only cupcakes but also creates cupcake infused ice creams, which they make daily. They are located at 95 Railroad Ave. next to Trader Joe's.

The Kick'n Mule Sports Bar and Restaurant moved into the spot currently occupied by the Southern Sweetwater Tavern and will feature 25 different Moscow Mules, craft beer on tap and a signature Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. Owner Matt DeLima said the eatery will offer menu items made from scratch and brunch on the weekends.
