Trading Card Game an Effort to Strengthen Relationships Between Kids and Pleasanton Cops
Kids who play the Pleasanton Police Department's new trading card game can meet officers and earn a chance to win prizes.
PLEASANTON, CA — Children in Pleasanton are invited to collect police trading cards for a chance to win fun prizes as part of the police department’s ongoing effort to connect with the community. To play, youth simply need to collect cards from participating Pleasanton Police Department employees. There are a total of 41 cards to collect and official game boards are available at the front desk of the Pleasanton Police Department.
The contest is designed to help children and police officers connect and strengthen the relationships between Pleasanton’s youth and local law enforcement, according to police officials. Kids who collect all of the cards will be entered for a chance to win prizes, including an opportunity to ride with Pleasanton police officers in the annual Hometown Holiday Parade.
Police officials say opportunities for collecting trading cards will be announced through the department’s social media platforms. The contest runs through December 31, 2016. The Pleasanton Police Department is located at at 4833 Bernal Avenue.

Pleasanton Police Department’s Contest Rules: Contestants must be a resident of the City of Pleasanton or attend school in the City of Pleasanton, and be age 18 or younger. To enter prize drawing, players must collect all 41 trading cards featured on the accompanying game board. Potential winners must bring the game board and trading cards to the Pleasanton Police Department for verification and contest entry. Public Officials, City employees and Police Department volunteers and their family members are ineligible.
Officers in the Tri-Valley have recently been working to connect with community members of all ages.

In nearby Livermore, Officer Craig Giacometti stopped by the little boy’s house to celebrate after learning that the boy dreams of becoming a police officer. The birthday boy, who lives on Giacometti’s patrol sector, spent some quality time checking out the police car before posing for photos with the local celebrity.
Police officers in Danville visited a middle school last week to shoot hoops, snap the perfect selfie, play games and chat with middle school students (in between dabs) as part of a new community outreach program. “Recess With The Cops” is the first of its kind in the Tri-Valley. Chief Steve Simpkins came up with the idea after noticing the popularity of the “Coffee & Cocoa with the Cops” program held at local coffee shops.
