Tri-Valley Writers June 18, 2016 Meeting

Guest Speaker, Attorney Larry Townsend presents Writers' Legal Know-How - copyright, defamation, rights of publicity, trademarks, etc.

Attorney Larry Townsend will provide a road map for writers seeking to safeguard protection of their works and to avoid legal problems relating to copyright, defamation, rights of publicity, trademarks, and both literary agency and publishing agreements. He is an intellectual property lawyer based in San Francisco whose practice includes publishing law for both authors and publishers at www.lgt-law.com. He is also a fiction author. His second novel, The Hot Monkey Love Trial, will soon be published by Water Street Press.

The CWC Tri-Valley Branch invites writers of all genres and experience levels to learn about their craft at its monthly meetings. The meeting will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, 2:00- 4:00 p.m. (registration at 1:30) at Four Points by Sheraton, 5115 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton, CA. The cost for CWC Members is $12, non-members, $17. Anyone interested in the program or the organization may attend with no obligation to join. Reservations requested by email to reservations@trivalleywriters.org no later than Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
