Tri-Valley Writers November 21 Meeting

Sergeant Brandon Stocking of the Pleasanton Police Department will share the ins and outs of writing crime/police scenes.

One of Pleasanton’s finest, Sergeant Brandon Stocking, will share the ins and outs of writing crime/police scenes with his discussion on the inside story of police investigation.

He will present an actual case―a 2013 home invasion robbery. We will learn how a detective works and how the court system works. We will also learn the art of piecing together clues, the serendipitous events that can make wonderful plot twists, and character development from an investigator’s point of view. These are all skills writers of any genre require to create characters that come to life on the page, with a plot that rings true and keeps the reader turning the page.

The CWC Tri-Valley Branch invites writers of all genres and experience levels to learn about their craft at its monthly meetings. The meeting will be Saturday, November 21, 2015, 2:00- 4:00 p.m. (registration at 1:30). The cost for CWC Members is $12, non-members, $17. Anyone interested in the program or the organization may attend with no obligation to join. Reservations requested by email to reservations@trivalleywriters.org no later than Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
