“I’m going to be UFC champion,” said McDonald (16-3), who lost to Renan Barao on Feb. 16, 2013, in his bid to become the youngest UFC champ in history. “I’m not going to stop until I’ve achieved that. But this is just another of my dreams, and when the fighting ends, this is going to continue.”
McDonald, the fifth-ranked bantamweight in the UFC, along with brothers Justin Smitley and Brad McDonald – accomplished MMA fighters in their own right – will instruct students in kickboxing (6:30-7:30p.m.) and submission wrestling (7:30-8:30 p.m.) on Mondays in San Leandro and Pleasanton on Wednesdays.
