Visit Tri-Valley Launches Re-opening Campaign
"Let the Fun Begin" is Visit Tri-Valley's multi-media channel campaign to engage tourism in the area seven months into the pandemic.
Press release from Visit Tri-Valley:
Oct. 21, 2020
After much anticipation, the Tri-Valley, which straddles both Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, has been given the green light to safely welcome back leisure visitors to the region, to help support local businesses that rely on visitor spending which, in 2019, brought in tax receipts of nearly $80 million. Let the Fun Begin, Visit Tri-Valley’s multi-media channel campaign, is designed to engage the return visitor, first-timer, visiting friends and family, and road-trippers to take their next vacation close to home this year. The gameboard themed campaign features the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes, through November 22, 2020, for the Let the Fun Begin Giveaway, which includes a two-night weekend stay at the Aloft Dublin-Pleasanton and $400 in gift cards to local restaurants, wineries and beer trail stops. That’s fun alright, but as the new Visit Tri-Valley website says, “Safety First. Making Memories a Close Second.”

"While our efforts are focused on helping the Tri-Valley’s tourism industry recover from the Shelter in Place order, we’re mindful that our first order of business is making sure we step out of our isolation bubbles safely,” said Tracy Farhad, President and CEO of Visit Tri-Valley, the official destination marketing organization for the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and Danville. “Our counties were first to close in California and slow to reopen with your health in mind, because we take this pandemic very seriously.”
To that end, Visit Tri-Valley has secured membership for all 40 of its member properties, in the California Hotel & Lodging Association, which includes educational tools, additional PPE supplies for staff and guests plus access to CHLA’s “Clean & Safe” Certification program and reopening guidelines. More than 80% of Visit Tri-Valley’s hotel rooms are now Clean + Safe Certified.

“We know the visitor will be choosing travel destinations that are taking noticeable precautions against Covid-19,” said Farhad. “CHLA’s Clean + Safe certification program gives the visitor clear evidence that our hotels have gone through a rigorous process to ensure their guests are safe as they venture out on overnight getaways.”
The new Visit Tri-Valley website has also adopted Visit California’s Responsible Travel Code, reminding everyone to wear a mask and to show respect and responsibility when traveling to our region.
"We are very excited to finally welcome back all visitors to the Tri-Valley,” said Farhad. "Now, we want to continue to lead the way in reopening our economy safely, without putting the health of our residents or visitors at risk. It’s time to feel good about traveling again. We can have fun and respect our beautiful region at the same time.”
